Hello again, dear readers! As you know, Chungus fluttered into our lives and hearts a few weeks ago, and now, we’re here to share our three-week journey of life with this charming and cheeky bird.
Since the last update, Chungus has really taken to his new surroundings. His chosen throne is none other than our computer chair, and he’s taken a particular liking to the cozy comfort of our carpet. Yes, it’s official: we now live in a pigeon’s kingdom!
Chungus’ intelligence never ceases to amaze us. He has developed his own quirky ways to let us know when he needs a refill of water (a gentle ‘boop’ to the water bottle does the trick) or when his stomach is rumbling for some seeds or his favourite treat, corn. We never thought we’d be outsmarted by a pigeon, but here we are!
In terms of relaxation, our feathered friend loves nothing more than soaking up some rays in the garden. But don’t let his peaceful sunbathing deceive you – he’s equally as content exploring the house. This little guy has quite the adventurous spirit! He doesn’t seem to like being alone and often enjoys trailing behind us, much like a feathery little shadow.
Perhaps the most surprising and heartwarming aspect of life with Chungus is his sheer affection. This bird loves a cuddle and is even happy to share a bed with us. If you haven’t felt a pigeon snuggle up against you for a nap, let me tell you, you’re missing out!
But let’s not gloss over the politics in the household. While Chungus extends his feathery love to everyone, he clearly has his favorites. Bart, in particular, has been given the VIP (Very Important Pigeon-lover) status. He’s allowed to pet Chungus whenever he pleases. As for me, our bond is more ‘on-again-off-again’, depending on his mood. But those times when he’s completely at ease with me are precious.
Reflecting on these past weeks, having a pigeon as a pet has been an absolute delight. They’re clean, quiet, and far less destructive than a parrot, for example. Chungus doesn’t fly around the house, which limits any potential chaos. Plus, a pigeon’s bite is far gentler than you’d expect!
So there you have it, folks! That’s the three-week update on our life with Chungus. He’s brought a lot of joy and laughter to our home, and we’re excited to see what other adventures we’ll have together. Thanks for following along on our journey. Stay tuned for more of our feathery tales!
